Ludurana - Reluz (pics heavy)

Hey!
Reluz is another multichrome part of the Ludurana Aurora Boreal collection that I bought from Ninja Polish. It's a small 8ml bottle but it's worth every drop of lacquer because the color shift is just indescribable! It flashes from green to copper to purple to blue and applies like a dream. It only takes two coats, but I went with three and did not apply any top coat because the finish is so glossy. On to the pics!

OPI - Movin' Out

Hey fellow lacquer fans!
Two weeks ago, I showed you OPI Man of la Mancha, a hot steal I got while dusty hunting. I also scored Movin' Out that day. It is sheer copper to green multichrome base. I layered it over Nabi Black and can't take my eyes of it. It flashes from green to copper to pink/plum. As usual with multichrome, I have a hard time describing them so I'll let the pictures do the talk.
All swatches show two coats of Movin Out over Nabi Black, without top coat. Enjoy!

Ludurana - Show (pics heavy)

Hello again!
Show is a beautiful multichrome from the Brazilian brand Ludurana and is part of the Aurora Boreal collection. Most of the Ludurana polishes come in a 8ml bottle, but they are very pigmented so there is no need to layer them over a black polish. I bought it on Ninja Polish and don't regret my choice! It flashes from orange to green to turquoise to blue to pink to purple (yes all those colors!). It is so beautifuuuul and smells so good that you won't want to remove it lol
All swatches show three coats of Show without top coat

ASBMF #11: Eggs and Chicks

Hello!
I had a lot of fun doing this theme because I wanted my chicks to have facial expressions! I had never done this type of nail art before so please forgive my beginner skills! I started with three coats of Icing Lemon Cello On The Rocks (lol what a name), then used China Glaze Moonlight an a dotting tool to design the broken egg shells. I used OPI Bronzed to Perfection for the nose and OPI Suzi Loves Cowboys for the eyebrows. Enjoy!

Anselm Reyle for Dior - Metallic Silver 072

Hello Lovelies!
Dior and German artist Anselm Reyle worked together on a limited edition line of make up products, including one dazzling camouflage eye shadow palette and five nail polishes. This camouflage themed collection, was inspired by the artist's abstract work and his use of bright colors. I bought Metallic Silver 072 at a Dior booth in Saks 5th Avenue (I *think this collection was only sold there). I was originally looking for a lipstick but the lady I was talking to was rocking Metallic Silver and I couldn't help but to ask her. The rest is history!
Let me tell you that this pretty applies like butter. What you will see is ONE coat without top coat!

Max Factor - Fantasy Fire

Hello!
I got this Max Factor polish a long time ago but didn't get to try it until now. I layered it over Stay Perfect Violetta, which is a purple/violet creme. Violetta is kind of sheerish after two coats, so I would advise three coats for full opacity. Fantasy fire is a purple base with red to green duochrome shimmer, this polish had a lot of success for being a close dupe to Clarins 230 and now I know why! Even though the bottle is really small, the color shift and layering versatility makes it for the quantity. On to the pictures!

Playing with Dior Rock Coat

Hey lovelies!
I got the Dior Rock Coat a few months ago at Nordstorm but didn't get to play with it until now. It is a sheer black jelly base that comes in a 10ml bottle and is supposed to give an ombre look when applied over a color. I like it but think that you can franken your own easily and cheaper with a couple drops of black polish in a clear base. According to Dior, Rock Coat is "the ultimate smoky topcoat. As a topcoat, its semi-transparent black formula coats varnish with a veil of smoky lacquer, extending wear and increasing shine. Your nail varnish takes on an enigmatic 'rock' look." Well let's see. I layered it over different colors.
All pictures were taken in an artificial light setting without flash.

K's Special Fridays #7 - Hollywood Glam I

Morning!
Today's post will be quick because I'm getting ready to travel for the week end! Don't worry I have schedule automatic publishing for two days :) Now back to bizzness
Hollywood glam I (or 1)is a dark burgundy wine jelly with holographic and red glitter that I made during a boring Saturday afternoon. I'm a fan of vampy colors and didn't have one with glitter so I got in my *lab. I hope you like it and thanks for reading ! See you soon xoxo

ASBMF #10: Butterflies - Tutorial (pics heavy)

Good evening!
I have for you a nail art that I did for the April Showers Brings May Flowers challenge, as the ninth theme is butterflies. I thought about doing a stamping over an orange base, but then discovered the monarch butterfly technique while browsing YouTube videos and went for it! This is the final result with one coat of Seche vite. I hope you like it as this might be the best nail art I did so far lol :)

OPI It's My Year and sparked accent nail!

Hello!
Today's polish is a gorgeous OPI duochrome. It's My Year has gold and pink glassflecks and is so sparkly. I love it. It is very feminine and work appropriate (in my opinion). I did a accent nail for fun with Wet N Wild Sparked, a transparent base with small round pink glitter. Be prepared to see a lot of accent nails and nail art because I have to go trough my untrieds lol. I hope you like it :)

OPI Party In My Cabana and starry accent nail!

Party In My Cabana is a warm pink creme that is part of the OPI South Beach collection. I bought it in my local nail supply store and I'm not disappointed with my choice. I spent almost 30mn looking for the perfect pink. It has a great consistency, opaque in two coats and I love how great it goes with my skin tone. I did an accent nail with one coat of NYC Starry Silver, a transparent base with small holographic glitter and medium blue and pink hex glitter. I love the combo!

Disney Villains and glitter accent nail!

Hello!
Another beauty received from my UK bday friend is a Disney Villains polish! I didn't even know that existed, how cool is that? I love the bottle design and plan on learning more about this brand :) It doesn't have any labelling, so I named it Evil Queen. It's a gorgeous shimmery purple with a tint of blue in it. I did an accent nail with a Rimmel glitter top coat, also received in the same swap :)
All swatches show two coats of Evil Queen, topped with Seche vite.

Revlon Fire Fox and gold flames stamping!

Hey lovelies!
I have a matte polish for you today! Revlon Fire Fox is another polish received from my bday club friend. It is a red matte polish with shimmer. It is opaque in two coats and dries very fast. The name inspired me do to a simple stamping manicure. I stamped with Kleancolor Metallic Yellow and used Bundle Monster 2nd set BM 223. They are supposed to be zebra stripes but they look like flames to me. I like the contrast of the red matte with the shiny gold stamp. I hope you like it too :)

ASBMF #9: Fresh Cut Lawns

Hello!
The April Showers Bring May Flowers challenge is almost over (only 5 themes left) and it's so fun that I wish we could continue lol. Today's theme is "Fresh Cut Lawns" so I decided to do a simple garden nail art with almost cut green grass and white flowers. I love the way it turned out!

Leighton Denny Supermauva and whimsical accent nail!

Hello!
I received a nice nail mail from one of my lovely friends in my birthday club, and she got me some brands I have never tried including Disney Villains and this beauty! Leighton Denny is sold in the UK, I have never encountered any of their products in the US. The 12 ml bottle design is superb, I just love how its elegant shape makes it stand out in my stash. Supermauva is a greyish mauve with purple shimmer. It applied smoothly in two easy coats. I did an accent nail with Revlon Whimsical, a pastel blue jelly base with pink, turquoise, and blue glitter. Enjoy!

ASBMF #8: Matte Magic!

Hey lovelies!
I'm having a game night with two close friends that I got into nail polish and one of them suggested that we should have a nail related prize for the winner. We will have different games including Scrabble, Uno, Wii, and Poker. I foresee a fun night, especially because I want to win the Grand Prize (each one of us gave decants of our HTFs): China Glaze TTYL, China Glaze Kaleidoscope Him Out, and China Glaze LOL.
I so wanted to have nails that looked liked cards but couldn't figure it out so I matched my ASBMF Matte manicure to the game night theme.

Dote Holográficos - Glamour

Hello!

Glamour is another holo made by the Brazilian brand Dote. It is a beautiful turquoise with fine holo particles. Like Luxo, it has a weak holo effect but I don't mind, it will be in the crazies of my conservative polish list. I hope you like it too!

Dote Holográficos - Luxo

Hello!

I will be posting a lot for a couple weeks (lots of untrieds to go through!) so don't be scared! I hope this pretty will lighten up your day as it did for mine. I received Luxo in a swap but didn't have the time to try it until now. Luxo is part of the holographic collection of the Brazilian brand Dote and is a blue holo. It comes in an 8ml bottle (as most of the Brazilian brands I have) and dries fast. The holographic prism is not as pronounced as in the Up Colors, it is very weak actually but I still like it.

K's Special Fridays #6 - Super Green

Who is your favorite Superhero/heroine? Lol mine is actually a supervillainess , Poison Ivy from the Batman comics (and movies) series. I was watching The Dark Knight this week and had the idea to create a polish inspired by Poison Ivy. I called it Super Green because it is coming from the best green in my stash (Nubar Greener), so it will always come to my rescue when I need it lol. It is a forest green jelly packed with holo glitter and fine green glitter powder. Short talk, on to the pics!

Impala - Na Mira 3D (pics heavy)

Hey!

I need to plan a trip to Brazil, lol seriously all of their polishes I own are just amazing! Today I'm showing you Impala Na Mira 3D, another pretty received from a swap. It is a sheer goldish/silver base with scattered holo particles and pink/purple flash. I'm not a fan of scattered holos, but this one is just magnificent! It is pretty sheer so I'm sure I can use it as a top coat over other colors. It comes in a 7.5 ml bottle. I'm used to the Impala brand because they have a small booth in my local mall (along with a Konad booth too!) so I went to get a back up of Na Mira 3D but they did not have it. Bummer! Well enjoy the pics!

Essence - Confetteria

Fail!
I'm disappointed with Essence for the formula of this polish. The basic story: I see online swatches, drool over them for months, decide to swap for it, try it and then... disaster. Yes, Confetteria looks gorgeous in the 8 ml bottle, and yes the pictures are nice too, but it was a pita to apply! The formula is thick and goopy. Layer too much and you can't see the glitter through the dark blue jelly base. A thin layer will drag the thick base, making it difficult to apply. I added a few drops of thinner in it and I like it better this way. I layered it over Soflajo Guardian of the Lake. In terms of formula, I think I prefer Blue Addicted. What do you think of it? Did you have the same issues?

Soflajo - Guardian of the Lake

I'm super excited about today's post because I will be showing you a beautiful polish created by the lovely Jody  at Soflajo. Jody and I met a couple months ago for a funny and crazy day of dusty hunting and she brought me a super cute gift from one of her collections. We had so much fun (between joking with vendors, and getting free polish lol) that I keep great memories of this day.
Guardian of the Lake is a color changing top coat that shifts from turquoise to blue to violet, and it has glitter! It is one of the eight polishes that Jody created for her "Year of the Dragon" collection. I layered it over Illamasqua Phallic and wow! It's the first time that I'm seeing a multichrome with glitter I like it a lot! Enjoy.
All swatches show one coat of Guardian of the Lake over Phallic, topped with Seche vite.

Illamasqua - Phallic

Hello!

Phallic is my second Illasmasqua polish that I bought at a local Sephora store. It is a dark blue base with lots of blue shimmer in it. Another hit for blue polish lovers :-) The application was perfect, opaque in two coats, and with a super shiny finish. Again, not disappointed with the Illasmasque brand. I foresee a mini haul as they added new colors to their collection. What is your favorite Illamasqua polish? Let me know what you think about this one!

ASBMF #7: Glitter Tips for Autism Awareness

Hello!

I am learning a little bit more everyday from a lot of nice women that I met in the nail blogging community. I am very happy to see how creative they are in helping to raise awareness on a cause. I have seen nail polish drives, auctions, donations, all for charity. That is amazing! April is Autism Awareness Month and Jess at Luv My Lacquer created a contest in order to spread awareness and get others to show their support for people who have Autism (studies have shown that 1 in 88 children are diagnosed with it). Blue is the color for Autism Awareness month and you can have more information and join the contest by clicking here. You can stamp, water marble, or do a simple blue manicure, so the possibilities are endless! I will enter the ASBMF #7 to show my support, I hope you like it!

ASBMF #6: Ombre

Hello!

Today, I have for you an ombre mani as it is the sixth theme of the April showers bring May flowers challenge. This will be my first ombre manicure and it was quite easy to do. You just have to pick a color (pink for me) and choose different shades/tones of that color that will make a gradient from one nail to another. It's also a great way to go through your untrieds or help you decide between different shades. I used two coats of the following polishes and one coat of Seche vite. From left to right: Wet N Wild Lady luck, Wet N Wild Dreamy poppy, Barry M Pink flamingo, and Wet N Wild Tickled pink

Girly Bits - Shift Happens

Hello Lovelies :-)

I have for you another Girly Bits polish that I bought along with Razzle Dazzle. This one is called Shift Happens and is a multichrome! How cool is that name? The color is so gorgeous in the bottle that I couldn't wait to try it on. I have a lot of duochromes/multichromes and I don't like to have to layer them over black all the time because it is so difficult to remove. So I choose to give a "shift" to my Illamasqua Scarab mani with one coat of Shift Happens. I'm glad that it worked perfectly over this color and cannot wait to try it over purple and blue. I'll let the pics talk!

Illamasqua - Scarab

Hello!

Illasmasqua is new to me and I have to say that I love this brand. I was introduced to Illamasqua and the Sophie Lancaster foundation after reading a blog post on Heather Does Make Up about the Sophie smokey eye technique. I could write an essay on this, so please click here to find out more about Illamasqua's work with the foundation in their fight against intolerance and discrimination in our society.
I'm so proud to own Scarab. I bought it at a local Sephora store for 14$. Scarab is a deep ruby red, with a metallic finish. It also has some coppery shimmer in it. The application was flawless and it dried fast. On to the pics!

ASBMF #5: A rainbow after the rain

After the rain, comes the rainbow! I really enjoy doing the April showers bring May flowers challenge because it is not strictly detailed. One can interpret the themes and adapt them to his/her own personality. Day 5 of the ASBMF challenge is "A rainbow after the rain". I went simple this time with the idea of having something colorful and sparkly that I could wear during a shiny day or brighten a rainy day like today.

K's Special Fridays #5 - Rose

Hello!

As most of you in the US must know (or not?), the acclaimed movie Titanic has been released last week in theaters and I am going to watch it today! Titanic is the first movie that I saw more than three times and cried every time (second is the Notebook, yes yes). Moving story, great actors, and that Celine Dion song! I cannot wait to see it and experience it in 3D :-)
I decided to create a polish for the occasion and named it Rose, after the main female character in the movie. Rose is a pastel pink jelly with holographic glitter and small blue, red, and pink glitter. I love how the glitter combination contrasts against the pastel. Equal to the "real" Rose who had to behave like a lady (ladies do not spit <-- reference to the movie) but still had so much fire in her! I hope you like it.

Jessica - Iridescent eye

Hello peeps!

Today I have for you Jessica Iridescent eye from the Peacock Queen collection released in Fall 2011. This polish is known to be a dupe of Chanel Peridot. I don't own Peridot, but for a knockoff, it is up to my expectations. It is a beautiful multichrome that flashes from gold to olive gold to green and I can also see some blue, even though it's hardly noticeable in the pictures. I really like the formula it is opaque in two coats. My only complaint are the brush strokes so you have to apply it carefully. I bought it on Ninja Polish for 6$ while Peridot is 26$ on the Chanel website. If you did miss on Peridot or find it too expensive, Iridescent eye is for you! On to the pics!

OPI - Man of la Mancha (pics heavy)

Hello!

I scored this gem in my local nail supply store. Since I'm a fan of anything duochrome and multichrome, I was attracted by the sheer orange and pink base, I had never seen this color before and found out (thanks to my friend Google) that it was released in 2003 and is now a VHTF (Very Hard To Find) polish. I present to you OPI Man of la Mancha, a multichrome that shifts from gold, green, copper, burnt orange, pink, and burgundy. I don't even know how to describe this polish I'm speechless so I will let the pictures do the work! If you come accross this one, do not hesitate to buy it!

ASBMF #4: April Showers

Hello!

First let me say that in doubt of anything, Google is your best friend to look for answers. Day 4 of the ASBMF challenge is "April showers" and I had no idea what it meant. After researching, I learned that it is a time of year when it rains and I quickly looked some images online for inspiration. I found this beautiful image and wanted a mani that reflects it. Let me know what you think about it!

W7 Metallic Planets collection - Part 2

Hello!

I finally had the time to swatch part 2 of the W7 Metallic Planets collection that I received  in a swap. The collection is called Metallic Planets and is comprised of 6 duochromes named after 6 planets of the solar system. They come in 15ml bottles shaped like OPI bottles. Today I'm showing you Metallic Venus, Mars, and Saturn. All swatches show two coats of the polish and one coat on the ring finger that has black underneath, topped with the W7 Diamond top coat. ASBMF #3: Glitter Sammy

Hello!

First let me say I'm not really a fan of the result of this mani because it did not came out as envisioned. Day 3  of the ASBMF challenge is glitter sandwich. I have never done one so I did some research online and looked into my stash for combinations. I did not have any jellies (need to fix that!) so I went with a sheer polish. I wanted something looking like cookies and cream :) Let me know what you think!

P2 Pearl crackling top coat - Red volcano

Hello!
Do you remember Blue thunder and Violet fusion, the P2 Pearl top coats? I'm showing you today Red volcano, the last of these glitter crackles that I received in a swap. Red volcano is a scarlet crackle with gold/bronze shimmer. It is my favorite of this collection, the color is so deep. I layered one coat over Catrice Aretha's R-E-S-P-I-N-K and might try it next time over black, I'm sure it will look wonderful! All pictures are without top coat. Hope you like it!

Catrice - Aretha's R-E-S-P-I-N-K

I'm really starting to like the brand Catrice. I only have two of their polishes, but I am amazed by the their quality, vibrancy, and of course their cool names. Today I'm wearing Aretha R-E-S-P-I-N-K, a bright pink creme so concentrated that it is opaque in one thick coat. I like the name and guess that it refers to Aretha Franklin's song "Respect", which send such a powerful message to women. Now I keep singing the R-E-S-P-E-C-T in my head every time I see this polish lol , I hope you like !

Essence - Blue addicted

Essence is another European brand that was unknown to me until I saw a picture of Blue addicted in a nail polish group I'm in. I was lucky to have a nail polish friend (NPF) in Germany who sent it to me. It is surprisingly small (5ml) so do not be fooled by pictures and read descriptions (I didn't lol). Blue addicted wears its name well; there is a lot going on in this polish: blackened blue jelly base, blue and green hex glitters, add some fine blue glitter to that and you have the perfect gem for any blue polish addict :)
The formula was really thick so I layered one coat over Catrice HQWBJ, then added a coat of Seche vite.
I might need a back up of this one!

ASBMF #2: Ladybugs

Hey!

Day 2 of the April showers bring May Flowers (ASBMF) challenge is ladybugs. I had no idea where to start and thanks, some kind ladies in the Facebook group showed me how to free hand one.

Steps:
1- Add a vertical line from cuticles to tip (I used Kleancolor nail art polish in black, but you can use your polish brush or a fine brush for fine lines)
2- Do a french tip mani
3- Add black dots for the wings
4- Add white dots, then black dots in the center for the eyes

April showers bring May flowers #1: Spring pastels

Hello!
I just joined a spring themed manicure challenge. I don't do challenges often because I don't have the time to do all the manis, but I figured it would be a fun way to go through my untrieds! The challenge was created by Hannah from Polished Prisms and consists of 14 easy themes. Day 1 theme is Spring Pastels :-)
You can click here if you want to join the Facebook group and do the challenge with us.

P2 Pearl crackling top coat - Blue thunder

Boy I love me some crackle!
Another P2 polish that I received from my German swap is Blue thunder, a light blue glittery crackle. It took one thin coat and crackled in less than one minute. All the pictures show it layered over Catrice HQWBJ. It is really shiny after applying a layer of top coat. You can see Violet fusion, the purple of this crackle collection too! I really like those, they can spice up a mani in 2 sec! I did an accent finger to show you how versatile this polish is. Enjoy!

Catrice - Hip Queens Wear Blue Jeans!

Whoa what a fun name!
This is my first Catrice and I got it in a swap from a nail polish friend in Germany. I had read a lot of positive reviews on the brand in general and wanted to try some of the cremes in their collection. Hip Queens Wear Blue Jeans (or HQWBJ) is a dark denim blue cream with fine blue glitter that makes it so discreetly sparkly. It comes in a10 ml round bottle. I like the shape of bottle and brush lid, it did ease the application for me, even though this polish is a little bit on the thicker side. All pictures show two coats of HQWBJ and one coat of Seche vite.

Hello!

Razzle dazzle is the first indie/custom/hand made polish that I purchased and I am very happy of my choice. It is from the brand Girly Bits and is a fuchsia polish with pink and purple holographic glitter. It comes in a 15ml round bottle and gives a good nail coverage. I wanted to spice up my Verona mani, so I added one coat of Razzle dazzle over Rainha. You can also wear it by itself, but I prefer to layer it. I wonder how it will look over black and might try it :) All pictures show one coat of Razzle dazzle over two coat of Rainha, topped with one coat of Seche vite. Enjoy!

Good evening lovelies!

I'm sorry I have not been posting manis lately because I have been so busy with the shop opening. Part 3 is about the pinks and nudes and I love them all. All pictures show two coats of the polish and one coat of Seche vite.
